Contact me or come down to the Center for Animal Health & Welfare to pick up a copy or two of the 2013 Center for Animal Health & Welfare 100 year anniversary calendar, featuring gorgeous pets from in and around the Lehigh Valley. The calendars are oversized at 9.5 x 12.25 and they can be purchased for $20.00 each. All $20.00 goes directly to the animals at the Center!
Why buy a calendar at the store when you can get one at the Center and feel good knowing 100% of your purchase is going to such a worthy cause?!
Calendars also make nice holiday gifts– get yours now! The Center for Animal Health & Welfare is located at 1165 Island Park Rd, Easton, PA 18042. Visit their website for operating hours: www.healthyanimalcenter.org.
Now’s your chance to get your adorable pet’s picture on a calendar and help raise money for the Center for Animal Health & Welfare! Our 2013 Pet Calendar will be celebrating the CAHW’s 100 years in operation and will feature 12 “pets of the month” as large (~8×8″ – 8×10″) images as well as lots of smaller images of your pets throughout the calendar. All proceeds from this project go to the animals at the Center.
A $250 donation gets you a professional, on-location portrait session with tracy bodeo photography, your pet as one of the featured pets and a free calendar. Or you can send me your own picture of your pet with a $30.00 donation and your pet will appear as one of our ~1×1.5″ images somewhere on the “grid” part of our calendar. You will also receive a free calendar. If you have already had your pet’s portrait taken by tracy bodeo photography, there is one additional option for getting your image on the calendar– please contact me for details.
So the project has begun! Contact me now– spaces will go fast! All photography and image submissions will be due by September. Calendars will be printed and ready for purchase by November. For details on how to book your session or send in your own image, please email me at email@example.com.
Here are two quick pictures of Holly, an adorable and mischievous kitten I had the pleasure of photographing. She was much more interested in running around and hiding under the couch than she was in getting her pictures taken! She did eventually settle down enough to get some “relaxing” shots.
Holly was found in the woods as a stray but quickly became very friendly and loving to her new family. She shares a home with her parents and three big brothers (one human, one canine, one feline).
This is Traveler, our pet of the week. Poor Traveler came to the Center for Animal Health and Welfare, very sick and thin, from a terrible hoarding situation. He has now been at the Center for well over one year. He is healthy, up-to-date on his shots and just waiting for someone to adopt him. He is a sweet, calm cat who really deserves love, attention and a nice home of his own. Please come visit Traveler– he is in the conference room at the Center. How can you resist this lovely, sad face?
Our second annual Fetching Fundraiser took place at AVH Veterinary Group on February 5th, 2012. The images were posted online shortly after the event, but I am still receiving the final choices of what to print by clients who purchased the portrait packages that raised money for the Center for Animal Health and Welfare. In all, we raised $2003.00 for the Center, the majority of which came from the portraits, but an additional $400.00+ came from our raffle. Several dogs from the Center were there to greet customers (in the hopes of finding their own homes) and AVH also ran a puppy playgroup during the event– what a crowd we had! All the dogs who participated in the event seemed to have a great time!
Below are a few pictures taken during the event (courtesy of Bob Thompson) and then some of my favorite client portraits from the event. Thank you to all these gorgeous dogs who helped raise money for the homeless animals at the shelter!
It’s almost here…. Our 2nd annual Fetching Pet Portrait Fundraiser will take place on Sunday, Feb. 5th, 2012. All proceeds will benefit the animals at the Center for Animal Health and Welfare www.healthyanimalcenter.org. UPDATE (1/9/12): All cats shown in this post have been adopted!!
Petco on 25th Street in Easton, PA has recently become a temporary home to several cats from the Center for Animal Health and Welfare (formerly the Northampton County SPCA). The CAHW has had many pet adoption days for both dogs and cats at Petco, but now Petco has also put in Cat Habitats in an effort to give some of the shelter cats more visibility. So far, it seems to be working out very well and quite a few cats from the Center have been adopted through Petco.
Amelia was the most recent adoptee, taken home by a nice family today. Now there are three beautiful cats that currently call Petco “home”. Yams is a really sweet little girl, approx. 2 years old. Zazu is a gorgeous, sweet young male. And Elmo is a young, frisky male who loves to play (stretching against his scratcher, below). All are spayed or neutered, utd on shots and litter box trained. Visit Petco and meet our wonderful cats!
The 2011 Center for Animal Health and Welfare holiday cards are now available for purchase in an effort to raise money for the Center. Each pack of eight 5×7 cards (2 each of 4 designs) costs $20.00 and all proceeds go directly to the animals at the Center. You can choose a cat pack or a dog pack or get one or more of both! If there is one particular style that you like best, you can also order one pack of 25 cards for $60.00. All of the animals featured on the cards are residents of the CAHW and some of them have been there for 1 or 2+ years. We are hoping not only to raise some money but also to raise awareness of our homeless pets and find them homes for the holidays. If you are interested in adopting one of our homeless pets or in purchasing a pack or two of our cards, please visit the Center in Easton www.healthyanimalcenter.com or contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org . Thank you to our sponsors who helped cover the cost of printing: “A Furry Tail Come True” Doggie Daycare and Boarding www.afurrytailcometrue.com (Hellertown, PA), AVH Veterinary Group www.avhvet.vetsuite.com (Pen Argyl, PA) and Joanie & Bob Thompson of Thompson Photo Arts- nature and wildlife photography http://thompsonphotoarts.com.
